Dis-Honourable. Gaspar Vega
Taken from the transcript of 7 News Belize 08-02-12
Jules Vasquez
“Would you accept the characterization that – this is what the PUP said; normal people have to wait in line, have to jump through hoops for years to get a piece of land.”
Hon. Gaspar Vega
“Jules I am not a normal person in Belize. I work much harder than a lot of other people.”
So uhm what exactly does this mean? That you think you’re above the law now because you are a Minister? Look pendejo! You’re right. You are NOT normal. You are put in a place of authority and responsibility. That means Mr. Vega, that unlike everybody else, YOU CAN’T THIEF! You, of all people, are expected to be a model citizen, one who knows, understands AND upholds the law.
Your lone attitude and casual words show how corrupt and therefore undeserving you are of your position. I call for your resignation, effective immediately and that you are dealt with swiftly in every accordance of the laws of our country.
So, Mr. Dean Barrow, what you gonna do with this thieving son of a bitch?

voting UDP or PUP is NOT the answer….each party is plagued with issues…no need to reinvent the wheel…just enforce the rules and laws we already have AND members of both parties need to hold their leaders accountable…WE MUST DEMAND CHANGE AND FOLLOW THROUGH ON IT. WE ARE IN CHARGE.

How much more can we the people of Belize stomach before we DO something about this bullshit? Is there no end to this madness? Year in and year out, election after election, 30 motherfucking years after independence and despots still roaming freely, tyrants still linger… where is the freedom from oppression’s rod we we’ve been singing of since childhood? Where is the land of the free by the Carib Sea? Perhaps i was foolish to believe things could be done peacefully… Perhaps it’s time for the sons of the Baymen’s Clan to rise and put on their armour…. drive back these tyrants, clear the land of despots! hmmm that would make an awesome name for a political party. talk about Patriotic too… SBC – Son’s of the Baymen’s Clan.
We need oversight..but
how do you get the rat to mind the cheese???????
I just want to kick this son of a bitch out of the TV last night, he irritated me so much. Thinking about it this is how all the Ministers think but he is the only asshole that was stupid enough to say it on National TV. I will be first in the line to demonstrate that he be removed out of office. Knowing the PM he will come out with some press release to try to do damage control. Vega’s entire run that Ministry I go there so often and it hurts me to see what is going on every single day. THEY ARE ALL A BUNCH OF THIEF!!!!!
yeah that was pretty damn arrogant to say it on tv with the total expectation that nothing will happen to him…says a lot about the state of affairs
“Jules Vasquez
… normal people have to wait in line, have to jump through hoops for years to get a piece of land.”
I used to work at the Ministry of natural resources and worked in the Architecture and Construction when I was in Belize; I’ve seen this happen under both parties so no mek nobody trick and try confuse di people. This happens at the local offices and in the Belmopan office, most of the big ones never leaves the Ministers office at all.
The sad part is that more than likely nothing will be done about this.
I know that both sides do this but UDP said they were going to stomp out corruption and he is just facey.
Agreed.
I’d like to see a real investigation done and a list of all politicians, their families and friends who got land this way.
I would not be shocked at the length of the list.
I totally agree with the above statements. The Belizean people will continue to be walk upon like doormats as long as this party continues to govern. Barrow will do diddly squat about his compadre, Gapi. The two of them are too enthralled in a tango, so P.M. cannot touch Vega. People, those of you who voted for the UDP, should be ashamed of yourselves. You have allowed these arrogant mo’ fo’s to continue to treat you all, together with the rest of the needy Belizen people like trash. Hope you like it now! You have a thieving Deputy and a P.M. who condones all his hussles. At the same time, it is time for future Belizean Prime Ministers to scrutinize those they entrust with THE MINISTRY OF NATURAL RESOURCES and stop furnishing this ministry to ministers who are already RICH AND GREEDY. Investigate your ministers properly and make sure they are not corrupt and have no underhanded or “shady” deals already, which will raise red flags; lead by example! Belize is for ALL BELIZEANS and not for only specific families!!!!!!
All those who voted UDP should be ashamed? Who was the alternative to vote for?
There were more than sufficient alternatives in every different color one could think of. Who knows? Chances are things could be a bit better, but now we’ll never know, because most Belizeans only see in two colors; red or blue. Say what you may, could we be in ANY worse situation than we are currently with this bunch of biggest thieves and gangsters the history of Belize has every seen??
I agree with souseh, there have been alternatives for quite a while now.
This is what I see.
The problem with the system in Belize is that people are afraid of pushing real change into effect, they are afraid to practice their rights, they are afraid of what the next Belizean will think of them, they are afraid of the “Big 2 – Red and Blue” …
What is causing it? Fear of victimization.
I sincerely hope that many will open their eyes and start seeing that you are victimized if you do or if you don’t.
With that in mind, the Big 2 have learned that people will not vote against their party no matter what they do and will especially not put trust in a third party. What people don’t realize is that they have been brainwashed to think this way.
What is the first thing people say? “If I vote fu di third party, what dem cuh do if dem win?”
When politics started in Belize the PUP was a small option as well, UDP started as a small third party as well. If we did not give them a chance, where would they be today?
Choosing to keep criminals in office simply because they are the lesser of two evils and ignore the alternative is not the way to go.
