So, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control is declaring that NO American can do business with five companies under the control of John Zabaneh and two of his associates, Dion Zabaneh (his nephew) and Daniel Moreno. These companies include: Mayan King Ltd.; Mid-South Investments Ltd.; Crown Paradise Enterprises Ltd.; Belize Chemicals Ltd.; and D’s Supermarket Company Ltd. Why? Because the DEA finally after hmmmmm 30 years got their shit together enough to prove that John Zabaneh is a prominent drug trafficker in Central America, especially Belize, with ties to Colombian and Mexican drug cartels namely the Sinaloa Cartel. The Sinaloa Cartel has been declared by the US Intelligence Community as THE most powerful drug organization in the world, making an estimated $3 billion a year in revenue and partly responsible for the 50,000 drug related deaths in Mexico since 2006.
So what now????? What does that mean for Belize? Our government? Who’s next on the list?????

Listening to John Zabaneh’s interview on Plus TV, I must say I believe him entirely.
Let’s not get anything twisted…we at Twocanview didnt say anything about him being guilty or innocent…we are merely looking at the consequences of the action taken by the US. It is up to him to now try to convince them differently…how does he go about that? FAC
Thing is…..there are more involved.
Of course. Can’t wait to see who.

I was away at the time and obviously must not have been paying attention, but could someone enlighten me on the outcome of that investigation?

The present GOB has been cooperating with the DEA for some time now with regards to Zabaneh. Keep in mind now, the Zabaneh’s are part of the George C. Price family and were once untouchable. Remember the solen SUV’s fiasco that just died a natural death? Don’t worry about that Banana industry. There are many ways to avert a collapse of that industry.
…it’s ‘thinking way outside the box’…and they surely have been doing that for hmmmmm 30 years? Yeh, hija, you’re are absolutely right…new co’s etc and tahah…Belizeans are hungry so ‘whe good fi eat no good fi talk’.
It is in the Wall Street Journal. Hardly gossip.
Lets rephrase this statement: How has our government allowed this type of thing to take place…it is a case of the chickens coming home to roost… We have know for a very long time that they were a major player in the transhipment of drugs through belize….this is the case of crime enterprise family…they are all involved. I guess this has serious implication for the private selector…the dominoes
are falling…
it would certainly seem so…
hahahaha they finally figuring that shit out indeed. All the Zabanehs are foooking drug dealers.
Well now..we can’t verify that…But their reach seems to be quite deep and significant…
FAC
so now what? what happens to our Banana exports, whats going to happen to all those people who work for all these companies??
I anticipate that measures will be taken to create a “:new” company with a new owner, name, board of directors and tadah! End of sanctions 😛
FAC
The Zabaneh’s only hire fricking immigrants anyway. who cares if they shut down. They are not the only ones that own banana company in the south.
How thoughtful, poor workers don’t have the fault.
