Daily Dingleberry 10-11-12 Sedi Dun “Sed-it” Yu On Yuh Own

I know. I know. You haven’t heard from me in a long time…my squawk box was broken and I had to take some time so it could mend. Miss me? Didn’t think so. So now to business.

I am extremely grateful to the people of Cayo who have continued to demonstrate all that is good about Belize and our people. They have once again raised their voices in solidarity and solemn determination to fight against the sickening crimes crippling our country. They have been respectful, peaceful and firm in their convictions. They have laid out their concerns and have turned to the government, who promised that it is the choice of the people, the voice of the people and are of the people, for direction and support. AND WHAT DID ITS REPRESENTATIVE DO? Hold me back now!

nothin….nothin….nothin….

He sat there and basically blamed his people for where we are and told us to fix it ourselves….I can’t even imagine what a mother or father who has lost a child must have felt to hear those words. What went through their heads when it was confirmed by the gatdamn  Attorney General   himself….you will not be getting no justice no time soon people…sorry your kid died but uhm…das yo problem boo…so Mistah Sedi…wut u gone do when people staat tun up DED????? Hangin from the lamp post? In front of the court house???? Maybe your front door?

Because….people will only take so much. When people come to believe that no one cares and there is no hope, they take drastic measures. I don’t want this to happen. Of course not. But if we can’t support each other in what is a debilitating situation affecting everyone of us, what can we expect?

Here’s what: Mr. Sedi Elrington was cruel in his dismissal of people’s pain and their pleas for his help. He was callous in his judgement and cold in his attitude toward his own people. Shame on you Sedi. Shame on our government for mishandling such an opportunity to join hands with the good people of our nation in a fight for our children.

May this fight continue in the name of Jasmine Lowe, Suzenne Martinez and all the missing/murdered girls and boys.

  1. Do more and get more involved.. I was being thiefed for over a year.. a dozen break ins, all reported to the police. At one point they refused to investigate and stopped responding to our calls. Finally we .. WE caught him. The police picked him up, found much of the stolen goods in his possession, he admitted he was the thief, identified who he entered and left, police had him in custody with eye witness’ to identify him, physical proof and a confession “to the police” .. he was released and never charged. Village story is that the police found “cash” alot of cash .. and took it for themselves.. Police will not even talk about the case now.. The police, totally corrupt and F—ked ! There’s not protection for us ! we must arm ourselves to protect ourselves.. Police are shit.

  2. Sedi di spologize wen wan guate ge kill. Bu u hea sedi di mek noise bout wen di guate de come eena belize ahn di tek ew resources jus like dat??? Da no sedi seh. “Artificial borders”. Da hu much eeh di gef fran guate. Fu talk fu den??? Sedi da fu guate or belize??????????

Da weh we vote fa??? A rink sedi shme e self. 2 0weeks fu wan vehicle wen di gob. Ga su much. 2 weeks da weh we vote fa. ???

  5. The thing one should realize is that that constitutional rights to due process dictates that much of these demands cannot be fullfill. The idea for the forensic lab is an important one, but enforcing all laws that have need for updating. To have someone on a registry without due process is a problem. Capital punishment has and will not deter crime. While the people needs are important, it must be driven in a reality. fiscal constraints, personnel constraints and improving legal structures, All of these will take a while to progress. In the end, he challenged people to take the lead, but people were expecting that he committed to something. This requires more dialogue and logical reflection.

    • Excellent point Caleb. However the sex registry I imagine would be for convicted felons. We at the juncture don’t know which convicted rapist walks among us…AL

    • I think we all know the limitations….what I can not agree with is his lack of connection with his people…he showed no concern…people first…deal with the rest the best we can…there is a way to say no…softly, kindly and with respect…no need to hammah sumbadi whe dun di bleed.

  6. Well, there you have it – A ‘Laundry List’ or ‘Wish List’!

From the ‘Truth will set you FREE’!

The letter contained a list of eight demands which residents felt are necessary to curb crime. It includes:
    1. Formulating a registry of sex offenders with a monitoring system
    2. Enforcing the law by bringing back Capital Punishment
    3. Replacing the Director of Public Prosecution
    4. Properly equipping the Police Station in Santa Elena
    5. Erecting a Forensic Laboratory
    6. Prohibiting bail for sex offenders/criminals
    7. Properly equipping Police Officers and enforcing all laws 8.

One can no longer think they can walk into these meetings and ‘wing it’. You must be prepared – have a ‘plan of action’. Things got too hot for ‘ole geyser’…too hot to handle. He took it personal and walked out. Seds, it’s beyond party politics. It’s about our BELIZE and our Belizeans. Go back to the drawing board and re-think a ‘plan of action’. Designate, designate and designate. (You can start with an apology)

One cannot have a good interview if you go into them unprepared.

    Absolutely (Madness)…Ya Betcha!

  7. I would like to know what happened to Silva, the murder of his girlfriend. And to Mr Erlington, wait until these criminals start to die in your name.

  8. WOW don’t these people know politics why aggravate the voters even more. Positive needs to be said if we going to the polls again!!!! Then again at a time like this they bring out a release to say crime went down, even it is true people won’t believe in this current situation,

    • This is beyond politics…this is ‘do you have a shred of human decency in you?”

  9. Well said.
That was literally a bax to the people’s face. Complete and utter disrespect to the people and in all honesty subordination to their bosses.

    • They continue to not understand that they work for us….but dey wah soon get di sense.

      FAC

    • Totally agree with you on that. Once people really open their eyes they will know what it feels like. I can so see an Iceland movement happening soon.

  10. Well said Aria. I was somewhat conflicted about my participation because I’m not a voting citizen, but i resolved that by remembering my own home invasion and being held with a shotgun for two hours. Having given the police the name of the
suspect – AND NOTHING WAS DONE. I remembered my friends Donna and Mike Hill killed by a psycho out on bail, robbing and killing them for money to pay his lawyer. I remembered my friend Peter Phillips, a teacher at Belize Christian Academy, murdered by a psycho trying to get back at his ex-girlfriend. The name of Peter’s killer was told to the police. The DPP told ME that they didn’t have enough evidence to prosecute. I asked her what about the bloody shirt, his confession to his father, the killer’s own father taking him to the police station? She paused, and said there’s nothing like that in the report and told ME to track down the assigned officer who had been sent to another town. On and on and on and on. Last night I was lectured to for one hour about how I should do more and get more involved. I HAVE A LEGITIMATE SEAT AT THIS TABLE.
